Birdwatching Trip to Kerkini lake and Evros delta

I`m just back from Greece guiding a German birders group to Kerkini Lake and Evros Delta.New experiences for me visiting places, watching many beautiful birds and meeting wonderful people! I`m particularly grateful to Hartmut M. Bartmeise-Reisen, for trusting me, and of course to many friends there. I feel lucky to be there in spring time and that despite the limited time I was able to do some fieldwork

Thylacine or Tasmanian tiger -The adventure of a study

..The Thylacine is a legendary species which lived in Australia and Tasmania and seems that is already extinct, since there is no credible evidence that the animal still exist for decades now. Attached, my efforts to depict the animal, starting with the initial pencil drawing , and showing the process step by step to the finished pen drawing. Eventually , I noticed several mistakes on his anatomy, decided to revise the image, started a couple of watercolours, and managed to complete at least one . Forgot to mention that videos taken in Hobart zoo( Tasmania) in the 30`s of last century have been a great help while creating my image.

Riesa city-Saxony-life studies

I`m just back from a short family holiday trip to Riesa city( close to Dresden). Despite the extreme hot weather I managed to go outside and do some fieldwork as  well a more detailed architectural study of the Trinitatis church , the most characteristic of the city.
The old cemetery provided a rich bird life with golden orioles, Green woodpeckers, a lot of  Wood pigeons and a variety of songbirds like Common redstart. Brown hares were also common there and Red kites flew above the city all the time..
