Van Dyck exhibition in Munich

I spent few hours in the Gallery of old masters(Alte Pinakothek) yesterday, visiting the current exhibition showing works of Antonis van Dyck from its own collection as well international loans. I found this portrait of the engraver Karel van Mallery particularly expressive and I did this sketch.. I copied also Van Dyck`s self portrait painted when he was 16, loan from the Gemäldegalerie der Akademie der bildenden Künste, Vienna /AustriaSepia fineliners

Bird head sketches

Since the most if not all of us are forced to live in a self-isolation, and don`t have the possibility to go outdoors to sketch from life which I`m missing most, I decided to start drawing from my own videos. Thylacine or Tasmanian tiger -The adventure of a study

..The Thylacine is a legendary species which lived in Australia and Tasmania and seems that is already extinct, since there is no credible evidence that the animal still exist for decades now. Attached, my efforts to depict the animal, starting with the initial pencil drawing , and showing the process step by step to the finished pen drawing. Eventually , I noticed several mistakes on his anatomy, decided to revise the image, started a couple of watercolours, and managed to complete at least one .
