"Kongourou" from new Holland & Thylacine paintings

A masters copy of the first ever painting of a Kangaroo, painted originally  by George Stubbs in 1772 and a Thylacine painting based on the well known videos taken in Hobart zoo in the `30s of the 20th century. Actually I`m not used to copy other`s artwork but this one was a commissioned one -a real challenge! Both painted in acrylics

Thylacine or Tasmanian tiger -The adventure of a study

..The Thylacine is a legendary species which lived in Australia and Tasmania and seems that is already extinct, since there is no credible evidence that the animal still exist for decades now. Attached, my efforts to depict the animal, starting with the initial pencil drawing , and showing the process step by step to the finished pen drawing. Eventually , I noticed several mistakes on his anatomy, decided to revise the image, started a couple of watercolours, and managed to complete at least one . Forgot to mention that videos taken in Hobart zoo( Tasmania) in the 30`s of last century have been a great help while creating my image. The finished watercolour , I managed eventually to complete  

Bird head sketches

Since the most if not all of us are forced to live in a self-isolation, and don`t have the possibility to go outdoors to sketch from life which I`m missing most, I decided to start drawing from my own videos. Every time I was travelling , I was taking a lot of footage mainly of birds. Attached in this case, songbird heads based on video I took while in Greece back in 2012. Fineliners
